Profile

Marleen Stegeman is a Dutch artist, poet, and songwriter. She is self-taught and studied social studies. From a young age, she loved drawing and painting, and she began writing poetry at 16.

Artistic Journey:

Her work, judged for quality by the curator of the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem, started selling in the late 1980s.
She has sold works on paper and acrylic on canvas to various art lovers.
The Dutch Government purchased her work for embassies in Berlin, London, and Warsaw.

Sculptures:

Stegeman creates sculptures of various sizes using materials such as driftwood, marl, and steel.

Publications and Exhibitions

2019:

Published a poetry collection, Rooted in the Earth, Born in the Light.
Represented by Antonio Castellana, featured in a catalogue 100 Emerging Artists to Invest In.
Solo exhibition in Rome at Area Contesa Arte, from October 3 to October 15.
Her work remained on view until December 2020.
Featured in an article in ExpoArt magazine in November.
Appeared multiple times on Antonio Castellana’s TV art program.

2021:

Featured in the first edition of the Catalog of Contemporary Art: The Top 200.
Participated in The Great International Yearbook of Contemporary Art 2021 Madrid Edition.

2022:

Four poems included in Nueva Poesia y Narrative Hispanoamericana publication.
Leo Zelada arranged for the publication of 100 of her poems by Lord Byron Editions.
Planned publication of a new collection titled Songs of the Heart by Leo Zelada.
Exhibition at the Benneton Museum in Treviso, Italy, organized by Antonio Castellana.
Represented by Art Nou Millenni Gallery in Barcelona, with a group exhibition in July.
Represented by Mega Art Gallery in Corchiano, Italy, with a group exhibition in Venice in July.

2023:

Participated in Ancient and Contemporary group exhibition at Museo Colle del Duomo, Viterbo, Italy (February 11-25).
Participated in Dov’e L’Amore Valentine group exhibition at Lojelo Art Gallery, Volterra, Italy (February 14-28).
Began collaboration with Art Platform AATONAU in Japan.
